Ajit Pawar favouring NCP MLAs of his camp in fund allocation: Congress leader

On Tuesday, Congress MLA Kailash Gorantyal accused NCP leader and Maharashtra Finance Minister Ajit Pawar of preferring his party's MLAs in the allotment of development funding.

"Ajit Pawar is distribution funds unequally by favouring MLAs of his group and neglecting the interests of Congress MLAs which will hinder the progress of their constituencies," the Jalna MLA alleged.

According to Gorantyal, after taking office as finance minister, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has diverted a bigger amount of development funding to seats represented by renegade NCP MLAs who have joined the Shiv Sena-BJP cabinet with him.

Authorities declare holiday for schools, colleges in coastal Karnataka today due to flash flood warning

According to an official release, following a flash flood warning in various sections of coastal and north interior Karnataka, authorities have announced a vacation for Wednesday in all schools and institutions in the susceptible areas.

"District Commissioners have declared holidays for schools and colleges in the vulnerable regions and it is advised for all citizens to adhere to the instructions of local administration", said the official statement from the Chief Minister's office on Tuesday.

The administration has also assessed the risk-prone locations and is well-prepared to deal with the issue, according to the statement.

Opposition floor leaders to meet Wednesday morning on no-trust vote

Floor leaders from opposition parties in the INDIA coalition would meet on Wednesday morning to discuss moving a no-confidence vote against the government over the Manipur issue.

According to sources, the opposition plans to file a no-confidence resolution against the government on Wednesday, as a last-ditch effort to force the administration and the prime minister to speak out on the Manipur violence.

Floor leaders from various parties will meet at 10 a.m. in the chamber of Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge. The conference has been convened to address the pressing concerns in Parliament.

According to Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary, the opposition parties have agreed to submit a no-confidence resolution against the BJP-led central government in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.

Since the start of the monsoon session of Parliament on July 20, opposition members have resorted to demonstrations and sloganeering in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, prompting multiple adjournments of the two Houses.

"Opposition parties will be bringing a no-confidence motion in Lok Sabha against the government tomorrow," Chowdhary, Leader of Congress in Lok Sabha, told ANI on Tuesday.

Leaders of the INDIA alliance discussed a plan to launch a no-confidence resolution against the government in the Lok Sabha during the INDIA alliance’s floor strategy meeting. This no-confidence vote poses almost little threat to the Narendra Modi government, which has the support of at least 332 Lok Sabha members.
