NIA raids Hawala operators with links to K-Group across 51 locations in six states

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday began its raids on Hawala operators and logistic coordinators of gangsters linked to Khalistan Group across 51 locations in six states.

According to NIA, among those being raided include associates of gangsters Lawrence Bambiha and Arsh Dalla.

Sources said that the raids are on in 30 locations in Punjab, 13 in Rajasthan, 4 in Haryana, two in Uttarakhand and and each in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.

The development comes amid diplomatic tensions between India and Canada after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau alleged “potential” involvement of Indian agents in the killing of a Khalistani extremist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, on his country’s soil on 18 June in British Columbia, a charge rejected by New Delhi as “absurd” and “motivated”.

The NIA had earlier published a list of 19 wanted Khalistani terrorists who were believed to be living in the UK, US, Canada, Dubai, Pakistan, and other countries.

According to reports, citing sources, these terrorists’ properties are likely to be seized.

The NIA has already confiscated the properties of designated terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a member of the banned pro-Khalistani group Sikhs for Justice (SFJ).

According to reports, the action against these 19 fugitives will be taken under the anti-terror law UAPA. They have been accused of running anti-India propaganda from abroad.
